UPDATE: FROM THE TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION:
TBI special agents responded to Chester and Hardin Counties to investigate a reported officer-involved shots fired. It’s unknown if anyone was struck.
SALTILLO, Tenn. — We have a crew on scene in Saltillo where a police pursuit allegedly led to the suspect driving into the Tennessee River.
While confirmed details are limited at this time, a heavy law enforcement presence is currently on site at the boat ramp on Main Street, including members of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, Bolivar Police Department, McNairy County Sheriff’s Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and more.
Crews can be seen searching the area by both boat and helicopter.
Our crew spoke to witnesses who believed to hear gun shots around the time the pursuit was coming to an end.
