Visitors enjoy the return of the African Street Festival

JACKSON, Tenn.—One cultural festival returns to Jackson with music, fun and so much more.

The African Street Festival takes place this weekend in the Hub City. The festival, presented by the Society for African American Cultural Awareness, was held at T.R. White Sportsplex.

Visitors could enjoy live entertainment, which included various artists with gospel music, jazz, reggae, blues and a live D.J.

There were also lots of other activities like African drum classes, a kids hut, health screenings and more.

Several vendors were also on site with a variety of foods, and other merchandise for purchase.

“Had lots of good cooperation from the city, the community, Polk Clark School, my class,” said Martha Rodgers Fayne, event coordinator.

This is the 34th year for the festival event.
