Starlight Symphony returns Sept. 28, celebrating conductor Peter Shannon’s 10th anniversary

Starlight Symphony – September 28, 2024
The Jackson Symphony will celebrate Peter Shannon’s 10th Anniversary as conductor of The Jackson Symphony on Saturday, Sept. 28th as part of the 44th annual Starlight Symphony. This FREE concert on the grounds of First Presbyterian Church is a tradition for thousands each year, and attendees are encouraged to bring their picnics and lawn chairs to enjoy a family friendly evening.
The program includes Shannon’s and the community’s favorites as well as selections from this year’s concert season—all capped off by Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture accompanied by the First Presbyterian carillon and live cannons.
Nashville harpist, composer, and singer/songwriter, Timbre Cierpke, will be a featured vocalist, along with West Tennessee duo Mark and Audrey Statler. Executive Director of The Ned, David McCall, will open the evening with the The Star Spangled Banner.
