New monument in Jackson gains attention

JACKSON, Tenn. — A new monument on Vann Drive is gaining attention.

The obelisk is set to stand 66-feet-tall when it’s complete and will become the tallest obelisk in Tennessee. That’s according to Donna Klutts with the West Tennessee Bone and Joint Institute. The aluminum cap for the monument will be added next week.

It will also have lights added to it that will shine to the top and the Bone and Joint Institute will be able to change the colors to celebrate the holidays and special events. Klutts says the obelisk is a monument dedicated to West Tennessee as a symbol of hope, healing and inspiration to all. It’s also a dedication to all healthcare workers for their devotion and service in improving the wellness of the community.

The monument is funded by the West Tennessee Bone and Joint Institute.
