Hub City Classic Tournament continues with Day 2
JACKSON, Tenn.—A local sports tournament continues in the Hub City.
Day 2 of the annual Hub City Classic Basketball Tournament was held Saturday.
The tournament took place in the gym at Liberty Tech High School and included games from various teams.
Our crew was present during the matchup between the ladies teams from Humboldt and TCA.
The Hub City Classic Tournament is made possible in part by Area Relief Ministries.
After the NAIA left Jackson, this event has become the only organized sports tournament in the area.
It is a great opportunity for local and regional high school teams to battle it out on the court in front of their fans while also supporting a great cause.
“It’s been a good turn out. It’s been a lot of high level basketball. A lot of good teams come from surrounding counties and other cities that come play. This is actually my first year experiencing the tournament. So far, it was a great game it was a lot of people to be here at an 11 o’clock and I watched the game at the 9 o’clock game and it was quite a few people here,” said Malik Cross, Assistant Coach, Humboldt High School.
This is the 12th year for the event to take place here in Jackson.
The action is set to continue on December 30.
