2024 Immigration Report: Statistics for West Tennessee

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference recently released a report of data collected from law enforcement agencies.

It is titled the 2024 Immigration Report which was prepared by the state’s district attorneys general conference. The report was presented to Governor Bill Lee, Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton, and Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally.

It begins by saying that the collection of this data is required by TCA 4-1-425 which states that beginning on the last day of January this year, the District Attorneys General Conference shall collect and analyze data from law enforcement agencies on the number of persons not lawfully present in the United States charged or convicted of a criminal offense in this state during the previous year.

This specific report is based on data collection for October 1 through December 31 of 2024. Also, it states that 71 of Tennessee’s 95 counties provided a report for all three months.

During the three-month period, there were 2,719 reports of individuals who were charged or convicted of a criminal offense in Tennessee who are not lawfully present in the United States.

In West Tennessee, Gibson County had 20. Henderson and Obion counties had 12. Dyer County had 5. Carroll, Henry, Hardin, and McNairy counties had 1. Chester, and Weakley counties had 0. And ,Madison, Haywood, Hardeman, Crockett, and Benton counties did not provide any reports.
