Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signs historic Education Freedom Act

NASHVILLE,  Tenn — Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has officially signed the Education Freedom Act Bill into law Wednesday.

The landmark legislation will now establish Tennessee’s first-ever universal school choice program.  The Governor was joined by members of the Tennessee General Assembly and stakeholders, including dozens of Tennessee Families, Students and Educators.

“Tennesseans care deeply about their kids’ future, and I’m grateful that families will now have greater opportunity with the freedom to choose their child’s education.” said Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

The Education Freedom Act officially takes effect in the upcoming school year (2025-26).
