Haywood FFA kicks off 2nd annual Ag Career Day

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — One organization is “cultivating knowledge” and “harvesting opportunities.”

The Haywood chapter of Future Farmers of America held their second annual Ag Career Day Wednesday morning.

Hosted at the Haywood High CTE Building in Brownsville, the event welcomed agricultural businesses to grow students of Haywood County Schools knowledge in agriculture.

Students were able to learn, explore and connect with agriculture professionals shaping our community and world.

“We have to have food, we have to have clothes, and we have to have shelter and that all revolves around agriculture so, our students, the biggest takeaway that it needs to be is that agriculture is a great career path to take and it has a plethora of opportunities,” said Madison Lewis, director of CTE for Haywood County School System.

The variety of Ag careers range from mechanics to finance to insurance, not just production agriculture.
