Blessing boxes across town providing extra help for those in need
JACKSON, Tenn. — The community continues to fight against hunger with blessing boxes across town.
If you’re looking for ways to give back to the community, one simple yet impactful way to do so is by utilizing the blessing boxes scattered around the area. These small, accessible food pantries are designed to help those in need, offering non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and other essential supplies – free for anyone to take or contribute.
“Give Back Jack” blessing boxes operate on a take what you need, leave what you can system. This helps to meet the immediate needs of our neighbors in time of hardship.
Whether you have extra canned goods, toiletries, or even just a few dollars to spare for supplies, every little bit helps. And if you’re in need, don’t hesitate to stop by and take what you need, no questions asked. It’s all about supporting one another in our community.
Many local organizations and volunteers work to keep these boxes full, but they need your help.
So, if you’re out grocery shopping this week, think about picking up a little extra to give back.
To find a blessing box near you, check with your local community centers and churches. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive, and remember – what you give today could be the help someone needs tomorrow.
Pathways’ Chief Nursing Officer, Paula Terry, says their staff, along with Councilman Johnny Dodd, work hard to keep the boxes stocked. Terry says they have joined with WTH Hope and Healing Foundation in the effort.
Anyone who would like to drop off food can contact Paula Terry at (731) 609-8897 or Michelle Taylor at (731) 487-8266.
