Jim Griffin
Jim Griffin, 68, of Samburg passed away 12:27 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Samburg Assembly of God. Brother George Hutchison and Brother Darrell Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow in Graves Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Samburg Assembly of God from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Brent Griffin, Lee Griffin, Tommy Griffin, Jeremy Smith, Jerry Hampton and Jatlynn Mosley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Whitby, Raymond Whitehead, Vic Smith and Alex Kent.
Jim was born June 6, 1956, in Obion County, son of the late Tom and Jeanette (Wiles) Griffin. He married Georgia (Franklin) Griffin. November 8, 1980. Jim retired from Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency after 23 years of service and worked part time for Davis Fish Market. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgia Griffin of Samburg; two daughters, Kim Davis (Larry) of Samburg and Dawn “Dee Dee” Griffin of Union City; one son, Michael Pride of Samburg; one sister, Joyce Ann Stout of Ridgely; two brothers, Robert Griffin (Joan) and Mac Griffin (Michelle) all of Samburg; seven granchildren, Keisha Mosley of Hornbeak, Kellena Davis and Jordan Davis both of Samburg, and Matalyn Kelly , Jace Jones, Annalece Morton and Alana Morton all of Union City; and ten great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Griffin.
