JACKSON, Tenn. — We are one week away from the April 15 deadline. For those who may be unaware, there is a new way to file your taxes.

Direct File through the IRS is for those with simple tax situations — those who receive a W2.

Tax experts recommend this simple, secure and free filing option. The option is for taxpayers across 25 states, including Tennessee.

Research at ‘Economic Security Project’ found that when Direct File is fully expanded within a few years, taxpayer in Tennessee could save over $400 million a year.
