Storm shelters to open amid severe storms

JACKSON, Tenn. — Due to severe weather in the forecast for Tuesday evening, some local shelters will be opening to the public.

The Jackson Madison County Emergency Management Agency confirmed the shelter located at Jackson Regional Airport (308 Grady Montgomery Drive) will be opening.

Additionally, the City of Martin announced the Community Safe Room, located at 701 North Lindell Street, is open now.

West Tennessee has several other shelters that may not be mentioned in this article. If you’re unsure where your nearest shelter is or have additional questions, contact your local emergency management agency.
