Fleet Feet of Jackson celebrates Global Running Day with ‘The Big Run 5K’

JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s time to get up and move because Wednesday marks Global Running Day, and one local shoe store hosts a fun run.

Earlier Wednesday, Fleet Feet of Jackson hosted “The Big Run 5K” at Middle Fork Bottoms Park in three way.

They had over 120 participants register from across West Tennessee, and even as far away as Louisiana.

“We have a lot of events in Jackson, especially this time of year when the weather is nice, it might be a little hot, but what better way to celebrate then to be outside. We have a bounce house from Danny Jumpers, we have Eden’s Hot Diggity Dog, and we also have Ben, Jessie and Pat McGee here with live music,” said Lindsey Barnes, outreach manager for Fleet Feet of Jackson.

They also had a small booth set up for participants to browse some of their product including shoes and clothing.
