Woman in custody after fatal stabbing at Jackson motel
UPDATE (8/21/25): Warrant details deadly stabbing in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — Several WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News tipsters alerted us to a fatal stabbing Monday evening at a Jackson motel.

Tuesday morning, the Jackson Police Department issued a press release, confirming that one man was killed and a woman is now in custody.

FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT:
[Jackson, TN] – On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 10:47 pm, officers of the Jackson Police Department responded to Daybreak Suites Extended, located at 1849 Highway 45 Bypass, in reference to a male who was stabbed at this location. Officers located the victim, 60-year-old Carlis Farrior, sitting outside with a stab wound to the left side of his chest. Officers performed life-saving measures until EMS arrived. Teresa Larue, a 58-year-old woman who was identified as Mr. Farrior’s girlfriend, was also identified as the suspect in the stabbing. Farrior was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Larue was quickly apprehended and taken into custody on the scene by officers.
