School Closings: Additional delays announced after winter storm

As effects from the winter storm continue to impact West Tennessee, the following schools have announced closures:

  • Alamo City Schools 
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Bells Elementary School
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Bethel University
    • Bethel University will remain closed on Monday, February 2, 2026. All administrative offices will remain closed during this time
    • College of Arts & Sciences – Classes remain canceled. We strongly encourage all students to continue communicating with professors concerning any missed coursework and assignments
    • College of Health Sciences – Students in the Physician Assistant and Nursing programs will receive guidance directly from faculty
    • College of Professional Studies – Online courses will continue as scheduled
    • The Vera Low Cafeteria will continue to operate on its inclement weather schedule, 11:00 am-1:00 pm for lunch and 4:00 pm-5:30 pm for dinner
  • Bradford Special School District
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Carroll County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Chester County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Crockett County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Decatur County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Dyersburg State Community College
    • All locations will operate remotely on February 2. Note: The campus is closed for inclement weather, no one except approved Physical Plant staff is permitted on campus until the college officially reopens.
  • Gibson County Special School District
    • Closed February 2
  • Haywood County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Hardeman County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Hardin County Schools
    • Closed February 2-6
  • Henderson County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Henry County Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3

  • Jackson-Madison County Schools

  • Jackson State Community College
    • All JSCC locations will operate remotely on February 2. 
  • Madison County Juvenile Court
    • Closed February 2
  • Lexington City Schools
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • McNairy County Schools
    • Closed February 2 through February 4
  • Milan Special School District 
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Obion County Schools
    • Closed February 2
  • Paris Special School District
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Trenton Special School District
    • Closed February 2 & 3
  • Trinity Christian Academy
    • Closed February 2
  • Union City Schools
    • Closed February 2
  • University School of Jackson
    • Closed February 2
  • University of Memphis
    • Due to the ongoing winter weather conditions, all University of Memphis locations will extend their modified campus operations — including remote classes and work for students, faculty and staff — into Monday, Feb. 2. Please note that the University is not closed.
    • Campus activities and events at all University of Memphis Shelby County locations and the Lambuth Campus in Jackson are canceled or postponed on these dates. Crucial services — including campus police, limited facilities operations and limited dining options for students in residence halls — will be available.
  • UT Martin
    • Regional Centers in Jackson, Parsons, Ripley, Selmer, Somerville and Springfield will operate remotely February 2. UT Martin main-campus classes and administrative offices will open February 2, on a regular operating schedule.
  • Weakley County Schools
    • Closed February 2
  • West TN School for the Deaf
    • Closed February 2 & 3
