UPDATE: Lexington Police ID suspect, share more on Walmart stabbing
UPDATE FROM LEXINGTON POLICE ON 11/20/25:
A follow-up on the stabbing incident that took place on November 19, 2025, at the Walmart on West Church Street. Randy Wayne Wynes, 41, from Lexington, has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder in connection with this event.

Law enforcement officers apprehended Wynes as he attempted to escape the scene in his vehicle. The motive for this attack remains unclear, and investigators are actively reviewing video footage and gathering witness statements to establish a reason. The victim received treatment for his injuries and has since been released from Henderson County Community Hospital. Currently, no bond has been set for Wynes, who is scheduled to appear in Henderson County General Sessions Court at 8:00 AM on November 25, 2025.
FROM THE LEXINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT 11/19/25 4:30 p.m.:
LPD is currently investigating a stabbing incident at Walmart located at 547 West Church Street.

A suspect has been detained and no additional suspects are being sought.
Investigators are working to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and additional information will be made available when possible.
The victim has been transported to HCCH.
