Obion restaurant fire under investigation

PRESS RELEASE:

In Town Commercial Structure Fire – Willow Tree Restaurant

At approximately 0211 hours, Obion Fire Department was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at 128 E. Palestine Ave, known to the community as the Willow Tree Restaurant.

Upon arrival, Fire Chief Kane Stacks assumed command. Fire crews found the two-story structure fully involved. Hornbeak Fire Department and Troy Fire Department responded with automatic aid, and due to the extent of the fire, Union City, Kenton, and Rives Fire Departments were requested for mutual aid.

As a result of the incident, two nearby eighteen-wheelers sustained damage, and an adjacent building experienced smoke and minor fire damage.

In total, 22 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. It took roughly 4 hours to get the fire under control and complete overhaul operations

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
