PRESS RELEASE FROM THE U.S. MARSHALS SERVICE:

US Marshals Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect in California

Jackson, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested West Tennessee fugitive, Dureico McKinnie, in California.

This arrest stems from an October 26, 2025, shooting outside The Family Fun Center on  Bowling Drive in Jackson, TN, that injured two people. The Jackson Police Department  investigated the shooting and identified McKinnie, 36, of Jackson, as the shooter. The next  day, arrest warrants were issued charging McKinne with Attempted Second-Degree Murder,  Reckless Endangerment, and Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous  Felony.

The USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson was requested to assist in  locating and apprehending McKinnie. The Task Force determined that McKinnie had fled to California and sent investigative leads to the USMS Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive  Task Force in Los Angeles. On December 15, 2025, the task force determined that McKinnie was at a residence in the 500 block of Edgewood Street in Inglewood, CA.

“Justice has no borders,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of  Tennessee. “We commend Jackson police for their quick work in identifying the shooter and  will work with our partners to vigorously pursue violent fugitives no matter where they think they’re safe from capture.”

McKinnie will be held at a detention facility pending extradition back to Jackson.
