Fire caused by space heater claims home in Hardin County

FROM THE HARDIN COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT:

Dec. 15, 5:52 pm , Hardin county firefighters responded to a fully involved residential structure fire on Nance Bend Rd.

A big Thank you to Clifton Fire for mutual aid, their engine arrived on scene first and began extinguishing the fire.

The fire was quickly contained but the mobile home was a total loss. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire was a space heater in the attached well house.

We recommend that you never use space heaters , but if you do, keep everything at least 3 feet away from them.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowner.
