Save A Lot thanks shoppers for helping spread holiday cheer in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Tenn.– With the help and generosity of its valued customers, the Save A Lot store in Lexington has donated more than 1,100 bags of much-needed, high-quality food to The Shepherd’s House. Throughout the holiday season, Save A Lot customers in Lexington – and across the country – showed their support for their local communities by purchasing pre-assembled bags of food that were donated to local and regional charitable organizations.

The Lexington Save A Lot store located at 421 S. Board saw among the highest number of donations across all stores nationwide, with valued customers purchasing and donating 1,109 bags – more than $6,088 worth of food – to support families in need. Each bag is stocked with private label and brand name food items, including pasta, stuffing mix and other pantry staples from Save A Lot.  To further amplify the contributions made by the Lexington community, Save A Lot is donating an additional $1,000, gifting a grand total of $7,088 worth of food and financial contributions to The Shepherd’s House.

“Our Lexington shoppers always show up for their neighbors, and this year was no exception,” said Selena Salas, Store Manager. “These donated bags of food will help families here locally and that’s something we should all be proud of this time of year.”
