Madison Co. Solid Waste Convenience Centers begin reopening with restrictions

MADISON CO., Tenn.—Madison County Health announced a phased reopening of its Solid Waste Convenience Centers Sunday (Feb. 1). The select centers will be reopening with restrictions.

MADISON COUNTY SOLID WASTE CONVENIENCE CENTERS BEGIN PHASED REOPENING WITH RESTRICTIONS
JACKSON, Tenn. – Madison County Health will begin a phased reopening of Solid Waste Convenience Centers beginning Sunday, February 1.
The following locations will be open from 1 – 5 p.m. on Feb. 1, with some restrictions in place:
- Pipkin Road at Overpass View
- 95 Passmore Lane
- 130 H. O. Forgy Drive
At this time, only household waste will be accepted in the main compactors. The following items will not be accepted at this time:
- Cardboard
- Metal
- Open-top loads
- Goodwill donations
While crews were able to clear sites around the main compactors, surfaces near the restricted bins remain slick. For safety these areas will remain closed.
Until further notice, all other locations remain closed. More locations will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Residents should expect potential wait times and are urged to use caution when visiting open Solid Waste sites.
