McNairy Co. issues post winter storm update
MCNAIRY CO., Tenn.,—McNairy County EMA provided an update for current conditions throughout the county. The agency released the following information Sunday (2/1).
Situation update 2/1/2026
McNairy County remains in a State of Emergency.
Warmer temperatures are forecast for our county.
Warming centers/shelters are open in the county, you can go there to get hot meals, charge your devices, and stay if you do not have a warm place.
Bottled water distribution continues in the county. Adamsville, Michie, and Selmer Water utilities have all received bottled water that is available to the public. Check the local social media pages for those service areas to see the distribution points.
Cautionary Boil Water notice remains in place county wide. This could be an extended notice due to the pressure loss in the systems.
All water utilities in the county are reporting all pumps are functioning. Pressure issues continue, please check for leaks on your property.
Power outages remain across the county. PEC is reporting 5,800 customers in their service area without power, this includes McNairy County and other service areas. PEC continues to make significant progress to restoring power to their customers.
State highways are clear and passable, be cautious as patches of ice may be present. County roads have been cleared of downed trees. Debris removal will start in the county to get debris off the sides of the roads. Backroads still have ice and are hazardous, use extreme caution on back roads.
The Town of Selmer has a shower trailer available at Selmer Utility Division, if you need a shower and can safely get there.
City of Adamsville has a shower trailer available at the fire department, if you need a shower and can get there safely.
Samaritan’s Purse has been deployed to assist citizens with clearing debris from their property, for assistance please call 1-833-747-1234.
