Chester County Fire crews battle multiple fires
CHESTER CO., Tenn.—Chester County Fire Department reports battling two separate fires Saturday, March 14.
According to a release posted to social media, crews responded at 4am to a structure fire at Tar Creek Rd.
Upon arrival, crews found a fully engulfed shed behind the residence. Firemen worked for nearly 3 hours to contain and extinguish that fire. CCFD also protected the nearby residence from fire and no firefighters were injured during the incident. CCFD says the cause of that fire was believed to be an overload extension cord.
CCFD reports the following units on scene: Engine 60, Engine 10, Tanker 10, Tanker 1, Rescue 10.

Also on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Chester Co. Fire teams responded to Eaton Road for an out of control permitted burn.
Crews arrived to find a wind driven brush fire threatening multiple structures. Due to the size of the fire and area, CCFD requested the TN Wildland Fire Forestry Department to assist. Crews battled for almost 4 hours to protect the surrounding structures and contain the fire, while Forest Service crews cut fire breaks around the burning area. Once the structures were no longer threatened, the fire was turned over to Forestry crews.
CCFD says that approximately 68.5 acres were burned, but no injuries reported or damage to structures.
CCFD reports the following units on scene: Engine 40, Tanker 40, Brush 1, Tanker 1, Rescue 10, C500, 2 Forestry dozers and transports, 2 Forestry brush trucks.
