Warm All Week, Couple Shots for Storms and Rain!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We saw some light showers move through earlier today but most of us missed out and didn’t see much. There are a couple more chances for rain and storms in the forecast later this week. Some severe weather cannot be ruled out as of now so we will need to keep a close eye on the weather later this week. We could also hit 90° for the first time this Spring later this week as well. We will have it all for you including a first look at the upcoming weekend forecast coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Rain is not in the forecast the next two days but will be returning later this week and again this weekend. We really do need the rain so let’s hope we get some without any severe weather. Storms are looking probable on Thursday and again this weekend but the severity of the threat is still being determined as of now. Thursday does not look like a big severe event for us but the system this weekend might be something we need to keep a closer eye on. Tonight will be dry and expect partly cloudy skies, we will fall down to the mid to upper 60s overnight.
Great weather is on the way for Wednesday and Thursday for all of West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid to maybe upper 80s both days and we should see plenty of sunshine as well. There will be some clouds but more sun for sure both days. Morning lows will be well above average too, hanging around the mid 60s. The winds will be light and come out of the south both days. Rain is not in the forecast either day but will look to return on Thursday as the next front gets a little closer.

Our best shot for rain during the workweek is coming in on Thursday. Some storms are looking possible as well but overall, the severe weather threat appears to be on the low side at this time. We will keep a close eye on the setup as the front system gets closer later this week. Chances for rain sit at 60% and hopefully that gets bumped up closer to 80-90% because we really do need the rain as the drought situation is getting worse by the day. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s and the winds will stay out of the south. The front itself will not pass through so do not expect to cool off until the weekend.
Friday morning lows will start out in the low to mid 60s depending on if the clouds on Thursday will linger into the morning. By the afternoon, sunny skies will return and highs will get very close to 90°. We have not hit 90° since October 1st, almost 200 days ago. Friday night is going to be warm as well with overnight lows falling down to only around 70°. Friday will likely be the warmest day of the year so far for most of us.
THIS WEEKEND:
Another round of showers and storms appears to be on the way for Saturday. Storms are looking likely at this time but the severe weather situation is still being determined and we should know more later during the week. Expect a mostly cloudy day on Saturday with rain chances starting in the afternoon and continuing into the evening hours. The winds will start out of the southwest but will turn to the northwest by Sunday morning. Unlike Thursday’s system, the front will actually move through this time cooling things off a bit for Sunday.

Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 80s but we may struggle to even make it up to 70° on Sunday. Saturday night temperatures will fall down to around 50° but mid 40s are expected Sunday night. Sunday night will be the coolest weather we have seen in a couple weeks by the time it gets here. The northerly winds will not last long though as a southeast breeze will look to return by next Monday.
