Local Athletes Commit:

North Side senior Lincoln Woods signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Freed-Hardeman Lions.
Woods posted career highs across the board during his senior season averaging 18.0 PPG, 2.4 RPG,  and 4.0 APG while shooting 62% from the floor and put up 8 double-doubles.
Woods leaves North Side with a career total of 1,245 points, All-District accolades, and was a Mr. Basketball finalist.

“Not because they won a national championship,” says Woods on why he chose FHU, “The chemistry with Grant Burns, we’ve been talking for a while, and he’s been showing interest for a while, so I think it was only right.”

Trinity Christian Academy senior Catcher and 3B John Brooks signed committing to play baseball at Union University.
Brooks’s career boasts 26 walks, 34 RBIs, 36 runners thrown out, and 52 career hits.
His batting average this year was .426, and he’s not done as region tournament play starts next week.

GSC Golf Tournament:

Union University finishes 3rd at the Gulf South Conference Golf Tournament. Medina native Lane Carr wraps up tournament play with a 66, good for 9-under par and 2nd place, is now a tournament record for Union Men’s Golf.
Andrew Westmoreland finishes 10th at 2-under par after putting up a 66 of his own during the second round.
Trace Robinson finishes 17th at 3-over par after finishing round three at 1-over.
Matthew Westmoreland also finished round three at 1-over, but finishes 20th with an overall score of 3-over par.
Henry Ashley finished 6-over in the final round of play, putting his final score at 14-over par.
