Tony Black named athletic director at Jackson-Madison County Schools
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson-Madison County Schools has named Tony Black the new athletic director for the 2026-2027 school year.

Black was with the City of Jackson for over 30 years as Executive Director of Parks and Recs before changing roles. He was also the second All-State basketball player at JCM.
“I see a greater opportunity to elevate the system in athletics to another level, bringing in a wider variety of opportunities for our students,” said Black.
JMCSS says Black is a “proven leader with a heart for Jackson, he’s ready to take our programs to the next level.”
