Trenton celebrates annual Teapot Festival Parade

TRENTON, Tenn.—Residents in Trenton gathered for the final day of the Teapot Festival.

On Saturday morning, West Tennesseans flocked to Trenton to enjoy the annual Teapot Parade.

The event kicked off at 10 a.m. at Trenton Elementary School on College Street.

Participants from all across the city and surrounding area lined up to take part in the parade.

There was music from local marching bands, and other area schools including Milan Middle. The Gibson County Sheriff’s office, Trenton Police, EMS services and other first responders also participated in the event.

Spectators could enjoy seeing floats from area businesses, and much more.

This year’s Grand Marshal, Nancy Fortner Hall, was highlighted during the parade and U.S. Congressman David Kustoff was also in attendance.

“The whole week of events is great. We got some inclement weather the beginning of the week, but it has panned out. We’re going to have a beautiful day for a parade, and a tractor pull tonight. That’s what usually gets rained out, so, if y’all are in the area, come on out to the Teapot Tractor Pull,” said Cody Childress, candidate for Gibson County Sheriff.

Festivities continued throughout the day with a Teapot Market until 4p.m. and finishes with the Truck and Tractor Pull.

Gates opened at 5:30 p.m. for that event, which it takes place at the Trenton City Park.
