Suspects sought in east Jackson shootout

EAST JACKSON — Jackson police are investigating a Monday night shootout outside of the T.R. White Sportsplex along North Hays Avenue in east Jackson. Investigators said the gunfire rang out just before 7:45 p.m. They said witnesses saw at least three armed black males with handguns shooting at each other. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News is told Jackson police are interviewing at least one person involved in the shooting. They also were interviewing multiple witnesses on scene as well. Investigators said they did not know how many shots were fired, but more than 15 shell casings could be seen littering the two parking lots on the side of T.R. White Sportsplex. Officers said they are searching for at least three suspects, all of which are black males. They said one is wearing a white, sleeveless shirt and jean shorts. Another is reportedly wearing a light blue shirt and jeans, and the last one is dressed in all black. Jackson police are urging anyone with information to call them at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS (8477). All calls can remain anonymous.
