Search for Noah enters 6th night

PINSON, Tenn. —  New details in the search for little Noah Chamberlin, a search now in its sixth straight night, Tuesday. A change in strategy as the sheriff said the looming wintry weather made it too dangerous to have citizens searching the woods.

Noah missing child websiteThe long lines of volunteers looking to aid in the search are now gone but law enforcement were out in the thick of it again, through the winter weather, holding on to the thought that Noah is still out there.

“I see a lot of these cases all over the country,” Edwin Grant with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said. “This is one of the best run, most thorough searches I’ve ever seen.”

Although civilian were called off Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement said they have not stopped since day one. Bringing in new resources everyday, including the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who got on scene Tuesday morning.

“We haven’t gone anywhere because we believe he is still there,” Madison County Sheriff John Mehr said. “Whether he’s in a sink hole or a cave, I mean you can’t even walk from here to you without hitting a sink hole.”

And that terrain is what is taking the biggest toll throughout this long search.

“Their feet are hurting, bleeding from blisters,” Madison Co Fire Chief Eric Turner said. “It’s really just hard to describe just how though it is.”

But through all of this, there has been a family still frantically looking for their 2 year-old and law enforcement said they are sticking by them.

“We’ve verified their statements and we can find no reason to discredit any of them,” Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver said.

Numerous officials out on the search site since the beginning said this the largest search effort they have ever seen in West Tennessee, if not the entire Mid-South.

Leaders at numerous local churches, including Pinson Baptist, are putting together a prayer vigil for Noah, Wednesday night. It will be at 6:30 p.m. at Chester County High School.
