Hearing set for accused Union City gunman
UNION CITY, Tenn. — A man charged in a Wednesday shooting that injured a woman is still behind bars.
Bronzie Johnson Jr., 19, of Union City, is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge after police say he shot a woman twice.
Johnson is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, according to officials with Obion County General Sessions Court.
His next court date is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Obion County Law Enforcement Complex.
Police say the shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of North Home Street and College Street and that the victim ran to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church after being shot.
Johnson was identified as the shooter and arrested a short time later at an address on East Vine Street, according to police.
Officers say they found a handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.
