Danielle Norwood is facing charges including evading arrest and criminal impersonation stemming from a Thursday afternoon traffic stop.

According to court papers, Norwood was the back seat passenger in a GMC Yukon SUV that police pulled over on Boone Street for violation of registration.

Norwood reportedly gave officers a false name and Social Security number. The officer knew Norwood from a previous incident where she had given false information, according to an affidavit.

When police identified her as Norwood, the vehicle sped away, leading police on a short pursuit, according to police.

Officers stopped the pursuit and the SUV was later found wrecked and abandoned in the 500 block of North Church Street. Norwood had fled the scene.

Norwood was later arrested Saturday afternoon when police served an arrest warrant at a motel room on North Highland Avenue, according to court papers.

Norwood’s bond is set at $30,000. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. June 23.
