Former McNairy Co. correctional officer indicted following TBI investigation

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A former McNairy County correctional officer is indicted following an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
A news release says that last September, TBI special agents began investigating 42-year-old Levis Scalf on a complaint that he directed and allowed an inmate to assault another.
The release says on Monday, the McNairy County grand jury returned indictments charging Scalf with one count of criminal responsibility, one count of official misconduct, and one count of official oppression.
Scalf turned himself in Monday and was booked on a $25,000 bond.
