Jackson comes out to support Miss Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn — A new Miss Tennessee was crowned and people are excited.
“I just get so excited seeing all the girls hard work rewarded.” Former competing title holder Sarah Anderson said. “I know how much work they put in, this is just a big night for them, I’m excited to see how it all turns out.”
The contestants have been practicing and competing since Sunday. Saturday the top 36 were trimmed for the first time to get down to the top finalist.
“That very first call is the hardest part of the night.” Anderson said.
For 65 years people have come out to support their favorite ladies but some say they ultimately just want the girls to have fun.
“Just do it, just have fun with it. Annabelle Mcginnis said. “Don’t worry if your in the top 15, you’re in Miss Tennessee and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Since Wednesday the ladies have competed in swimsuits, talents and evening gowns.
People have been getting caught up all week in pageant fever but what were some of the crowds favorite rounds?
“Talent was good, the interviews was good, the swimsuit competition was awesome and the commentary that was there was wonderful.” Pageant goer Barbara Woodard said.
“I like the swimsuit part.” Pageant goer Tillman Fuller said.
The winner of Miss Tennessee is awarded more than 100 thousand dollars in scholarships and bragging rights of taking home the crown.
