Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Friday

West Tennessee has remained dry today with the exception of a few showers that moved through this morning bringing less than a half inch of rain to some sections of northwest Tennessee. Tonight, skies will become mostly clear with temperatures falling to just the upper 60s and lower 70s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the weekend forecast with our best chance for rain arriving on Monday – the Fourth of July.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible tomorrow as the front meanders across the region. Many areas will remain dry but those that get rain could get the heavy stuff. Be alert for thunder and lightning in your area tomorrow! Temperatures will warm up to the upper 80s and lower 90s during the afternoons. There’s a 20-30% chance for rain on both days. Any thunderstorms that develop will have a potential to create gusty winds and small hail.

MONDAY
It still looks like most of West Tennessee will get rain on Monday. Right now, the latest data is suggesting that showers and thunderstorms will be moving through the area from the morning into the afternoon and early evening leaving drier conditions at night. Some storms that develop on Monday could be strong or severe with a threat for damaging winds and large hail. Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for updates to this forecast!

Have a wonderful weekend!
