Man charged with killing store clerk appears in court
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man charged with killing a local convenience store clerk faced a judge Monday.
Urshawn Miller appeared in Madison County Circuit Court. He is accused of fatally shooting Ahmad Dhalai on Nov. 25 at the Bull Market on Hollywood Drive.
Miller’s attorney told the judge he plans to meet with his client this week to review video from the convenience store.
The judge moved Miller’s next court date to August. “That’ll give your attorney a few more weeks to continue working on your case,” Judge Don Allen said. “Of course he’ll be coming back down to the jail to meet with you about everything as well.”
Miller faces eight counts including first-degree murder. He’s due back in court Aug. 22.
