Man charged with shooting at family in east Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police arrested a man this weekend on accusations of opening fire on a family in east Jackson.

jaylintysonJaylin Maurice Tyson appeared in Jackson City Court Monday on an aggravated assault charge. He is accused of shooting a man in the leg around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Lexington Avenue, according to court documents.

Police said the victim told them he was in the backyard with three family members when two people came up, asked if they knew anyone who fixed cars, and then one started shooting.

Investigators said the victim identified Tyson as the shooter.

Tyson is currently being held at the Madison County Jail in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
