Community comes together to pray, fellowship
JACKSON, Tenn.-More a hundred Hub City residents gathered in north Jackson, Wednesday night to pray for the city and each other.
The Campbell Street Church of Christ held their weekly meeting at North Side High School, where everyone gathered for food and community.
With students hitting the books in less than 2 weeks, organizers said they hope residents will come out a special meeting they are planning for the first week of school.
“We’re calling everybody, first week of school, calling everybody to come together and to pray for the schools and bring everybody together, the whole city to come together from all parts of the city, where we’ve been all summer,” said Minister Danny Sorrell of the Campbell Street Church of Christ.
That prayer meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 3 at the soccer field beside the Campbell Street Church of Christ.
As for next week’s meeting, ongoing construction at Pope Elementary may result in a location change.
