Weather Update – 11:30 p.m. Tuesday

Showers have dissipated over the last few hours with mainly dry weather now expected for the rest of the night. Temperatures will only drop to the middle 70s by sunrise at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. Patchy fog is possible but skies will be mostly clear overnight. There’s cooler weather to look forward to tomorrow and Thursday with high temperatures in the 80s for the first time in almost two weeks!

WEDNESDAY
While the morning should start off mostly dry with sunshine, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop in the area in the later hours of the morning and continue through the afternoon and into the evening. This will keep temperatures from getting as hot as they have been recently – some areas may not even reach 90°F!

However, with a chance for thunderstorms also comes a possibility for a strong to severe thunderstorm. Stay weather aware tomorrow – U.S. lightning deaths have spiked in recent weeks. It doesn’t need to be raining for you to be in danger. When thunder roars, GO INDOORS!

REST OF THE WORKWEEK
An area of low pressure will move into West Tennessee between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, enhancing the chance for rain. Off-and-on showers will likely occur from Wednesday afternoon through the start of the weekend. Excessive rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding. One or two thunderstorms could become strong or even severe Thursday or Friday as well, but high temperatures will be limited to just the lower and middle 80s on Thursday.  Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the latest updates to the forecast!

Have a great night!
