Local doctors sentenced for involvement in federal opioid investigation
JACKSON, Tenn. — Two local doctors have been sentenced for their involvement in a federal opioid investigation.
Alexander Alperovich and Andrew Rudin received their sentences on Wednesday at the U.S. District Court in Jackson.
Both Alperovich and Rudin served as supervising physicians to “Rock Doc” Jeff Young, who was convicted of several charges related to the investigation.
Rudin, who pled guilty to one count of false statements related to healthcare matters, was sentenced to 12 months and one day imprisonment, to be followed by two years of supervised release.
Alperovich, who pled guilty to one count of making a false statement relating to healthcare matters, was sentenced to two years of probation.
A sentencing was set for Jeff Young at the U.S. District Court in Memphis on Thursday morning, however it was postponed until January 2024.
