PRESS RELEASE:

The Jackson Clinic Announces First Graduating Class of Employee Medical Assistant Program

(Jackson, TN) The Jackson Clinic is pleased to announce the graduation  of the inaugural class of its Medical Assistant Program.

Launched earlier in 2023, The Jackson Clinic Medical Assistant Program is  an educational opportunity available to employees of The Jackson Clinic.  The program is available to eligible employees with at least six months of  continuous full-time employment.

The 16-week program consists of a guided self-study of anatomy and  physiology and medical terminology, 77 online modules, 72 classroom  hours, and 112 clinical hours. At the end of the program, students are  prepared to sit for National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification  through practice exams and individualized remediation plans.

Each student in the program is assigned to a preceptor for their clinicals,  utilizing a tiered skills- and assignment-based approach designed to build  on previously learned material. While enrolled, students transition to the  role of patient care technician, which is a full-time position with benefits in  one of The Jackson Clinic’s departments.

The program offers students the ability to transition into healthcare  careers, master the skills they learn in the program, learn healthcare  professional expectations, and become a valued part of a healthcare  team.

“This program is a real tangible example of what it means to invest in your  people,” said Kim Holland, Director of Nursing for The Jackson Clinic. “No  other medical group in the area offers current employees training like this.  We are proud of these first nine students who are investing in both their  community and their own families.”
