County Commission to Replace School Board Member Soon

JACKSON, Tenn.-At Monday morning’s meeting of the Madison County Commission, commissioners voted to accept Maria Mitchell’s resignation from the school board. Mtchell announced plans to resign on June 17 citing a desire to move overseas to spend more time with her husband who works out of the country. A replacement will have to be appointed by the county commission and commissioners plan to discuss that and a process to do so at their August meeting.
