Former Milan Officer Enters Best Interest Plea

MILAN, Tenn.- A former Milan Police officer indicted last fall on 18 counts, including rape and incest was back in court, Wednesday. Adam Martin entered a best interest plea, which in technically a guilty plea. But he was able to admit to just one count of aggravated assault, keeping him off the sex offender registry. Martin’s attorney told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News he will be on probation for four years, but he will not get any jail time. Since this is a felony, Martin will never be able to work in law enforcement again.
