New Nature Studies building opens at Cypress Grove Nature Park
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new building is officially open at Jackson’s Cypress Grove Nature Park.
Dozens gathered for the ribbon cutting of the Nature Studies building.
Jackson City Parks and Rec staff say more than 3,000 students ventured to the park last year.
The project was largely funded by donations and has taken more than 10 years to build.
The building is open to the public and will be used as an additional learning center for both secondary and some university students.
“It brings this park to its full potential,” said Pat Mingledorff, chair of the Parks Board. “It’s been a great park, but now it’s going to allow the park to teach and make a wonderful experience for visitors.”
Park leaders say a full-time staff member will be available at the classroom during park hours.
