I-40 traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs

JACKSON, Tenn.— Traffic stop by agents leads to drug seizure.

Thanks to the actions of agents with the West TN Drug Task Force Units, more drugs have now been removed from the streets.

According to a post from the West TN Drug Task Force’s social media page, Friday morning agents with the Highway Interdiction unit from the 30th Judicial District conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-350 truck along I-40 that resulted in a probable cause search.

That search resulted in the findings of a half-pound of Khat (c-o-t) and 2,861 cartons of untaxed cigarettes. Agents explained that Khat is a Schedule I Controlled Substance. The substance is an imported hallucinogenic drug often abused and has no accepted medical use.
