Freed-Hardeman mens Basketball wins three in a row

To be a winning program, it takes everyone. From the best player on the team to the last guy on the bench. Because it’s not just about your starting five. You have to factor in the bench, your best defensive lineups, and your late-game situational lineups if you need a bucket. The point is… it takes a lot. But if done right, everyone buys in. It can be the most beautiful thing ever.

The Freed Hardeman University men’s basketball team did battle with Fisk University. The Lions started to click early in the game as Hunter Scurlock got out and made his presence known striking an 8 to 0 run. But more than anything the credit has to go to the fact the Lions forced 17 turnovers and scored 25 points off of them. But let’s also give credit to the defense that had 12 steals and the huge help of having 38 points coming off of their bench. Peyton Law, Quan Lax, Devin Tomlinson, Phil Horton, and Geraldo Lane all scored 10 or more points. That’s in large part to the 20 assists they had as a team.  And when you pass the ball that leads to wins. And that’s what happened as Freed-Hardeman gets the win with a final of 91 to 63. Which also now extends their winning streak to three games and sits them at a 23-4 overall record.
