Lineman’s poetry spotlights Southwest Electric’s courageous team

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation held a special event today called Lineman Appreciation Day.

One Southwest Electric lineman is using poetry to show his appreciation to a group of dedicated workers.

Line Foreman, Ben Cupples, who works in the Henderson District, wrote a poem honoring the lineman who brave the elements to restore power when it’s knocked out and Southwest Electric made a video of it.

“My inspiration came from just doing the job in general. The older lineman I learned from in years past, some of those have done passed on,” said Cupples.

“I just started putting it down on paper and one thing led to another and next thing you know, I had a poem,” said Cupples.
