East Jackson Shooting Leaves One Hospitalized

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson Police responded to a shooting in East Jackson, around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police said when they arrived on the scene in the 400 block of Lexington Street, they found a victim who had collapsed after being shot in the upper back and right leg. Police said a blue car was driving at a high rate of speed in the nearby 100 block of Elizabeth Street, and nearly hit the victim and a friend. The parties exchanged words, and that is when police said shots were fired. The victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The victim’s friend was uninjured.
