One organization honors veterans with a special ride
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The flags are up and the motorcycles are out for the Memorial Day holiday in honor of all the veterans serving our country.
Rolling Thunder, a national non-profit organization consisting of veterans and non-veterans, rode motorcycles today as a parade demonstration. The organization did so to recognize members of the military who are prisoners of war and those missing in action that are still not recovered from war.
There’s still more than 80 thousand still missing from World War II, The Korean War, and Vietnam.
The Tennessee State Veterans Home received a visit from Rolling Thunder for the third year to give homage to local veterans in our community.
“Memorial Day is a day to honor the fallen and remember the, the men and women that gave their lives for our country,” said Mick Singer, President of Rolling Thunder.
Rolling Thunder meets in Martin, every third Sunday at the senior center and they’re appreciative of those that join they’re assignment to recognize U.S. soldiers.
