HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. – A new search for a woman who has been missing for five years is planned for August 10-11. McEwen-based Southeast K9 Search and Rescue will be in Henry County searching for missing mother, Rachel Conger. They are asking for civilian searchers and volunteers. If civilians would like to help, they can sign up at http://www.southeastk9sar.org/Search_Pre-Registration.html. A news release stated that they need search volunteers as well as people to help shuttle volunteers to the various search areas, deliver water and help keep the team hydrated. Rachel Conger has been missing since March 13, 2008. Even though the case has gone cold, Conger‘s family still hopes she can be found. Conger’s daughter, Amber Simmons, was 13-years-old when her mother disappeared and is now starting her freshman year of college in Georgia. Simmons stated, “I am so happy that a team like Southeast K9 Search and Rescue is looking into my mother’s disappearance. It is of great comfort to my family that a team of their caliber is interested in my mother’s disappearance and is out there searching for her. I am happy that I will get a chance to come to Tennessee and help carry on the search for my mother. I will never give up hope that one day she will be found.” If civilians want to learn more about what Southeast K9 Search and Rescue does, they can follow the link to the website and sign up: http://www.southeastk9sar.org/Search_Pre-Registration.html. All volunteers must be 18 years old unless previously cleared by SEK9SAR staff and will be contacted prior to the search date with the area and times.
