GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas has been booked into the Gibson County Jail.
According to booking information, Thomas was booked around 10:43 Tuesday morning on a capias with a bond set at $25,000.
Records available online indicate he bonded out of custody just a short time later.
Booking information shows a court date set for Thomas on September 16.
This comes after sources claimed Thomas could be indicted this week and required to turn himself in.
We do know Thomas was being investigated by the FBI in September 2022, though exactly what possible charges he may be facing remains uncertain.
We talked with Sheriff Thomas on Monday morning. He told us he could not comment on this situation and referred us to his attorney William Massey.
We have since reached out to numerous agencies, including the TBI, FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Gibson County Clerk’s Office, and his attorney.
At this time, no further details have been confirmed.
